IPL on YouTube – the real performer

The first time I went to check, the message said “Try again later”, then after some five minutes, the match went on Air.

This is cool, hilarious. Because simply I don’t have TV. I live alone and I never got fancy with TV as I hook up most of the time in computer. There are rare times I feel I need a TV like this, IPL for example.

I knew this can never replace TV. But I am completely satisfied to say this is the future.

The applaud makes us involve in sports. The crowd shouting is psychologically essential on making us “eager to” watch. But here the sound quality is poor, even when there is a sixer, I can’t hear the ground cheering, but after connecting to external speakers, the sound quality is more or like watching in TV. I’ve a 512 kbps Airtel connection (which is low already), so this works fine for me. I can’t imagine about the lower speed as most of the Indians have 256 kbps.

But how many get turn on to IPL on YouTube?

I hope a lot will, as there is a convenience to work and hear updates. Not all the  organizations prevent employees to watch YouTube, though they don’t allow watching TV. And if that’s the case, sound quality is not even an issue, as it will be muted.

I had a doubt that this might take all my speed but its not. I can comfortably do my work and also downloading and uploading goes smooth.

And if its night time I am sure there are call center and BPO employees who work on US timings i.e., night shifts. So as of now if IPL on YouTube is not gonna replace the TV, well who cares? I can see the match directly than seeing text updates on every ball.

And even if you can’t view on company, you’ve your mobile. I hope there will be some tricks to watch on mobile. That will get more excited if we get 3G as soon as possible.

There are options like Picture-in Picture and change camera (don’t get fancy, the other camera is just fun feed talking to celebrities and stuff like that).

This will also help expats where there is no TV channel telecasting IPL.

If there is an option to embed in website, I appreciate.

On the other hand, there were website which did a great job of updating the match through text, every ball. This model will sure kill those websites and many are already well grounded.

Though there are few technical glitches, Google sure will sweep the credits and it deserves.
